The proportion of young adults who died of the coronavirus is higher in Brazil than in most other countries, especially among the poorest, who have more difficulty to comply with the rules of social distancing.

This difference can be explained first of all by the pyramid of ages : 13.6% of Brazilians only have over 60 years of age, compared to 25 % in Spain and 28 % in Italy. But other factors come into account.
