A massive overnight house fire in Brampton has left three people dead.

Peel Regional Police said a young girl with serious injuries was transported to SickKids hospital Tuesday morning.

Peel Fire got a call around 4:10 a.m. about a fire that had broken out on Madison St., near Dixie Rd. and Williams Pkwy. The fire was quickly escalated to a 1-alarm fire.

Police said three bodies did not make it out of the house. The fire is contained to one unit of the semi-detached home.

According to fire services, the girl was rescued by the tenant of the basement unit. The tenant kicked down the door and was able to rescue the girl.

At about 7 a.m., police were waiting on the coroner to confirm the identities and the cause of death of the deceased. Police did not reveal the girl’s age.

The cause of the fire is not known.
