The police zone Brussels North conducted Wednesday night in a major operation in the neighborhood of the gare du nord train station in Schaerbeek. This action followed numerous complaints of nuisance and crime in the neighborhood. The police controlled 73 people, among which 56 were arrested, said on Thursday the police area in question, confirming information from a variety of media.

"Before the confinement, we had strengthened our presence and our visibility in the neighborhood of the gare du nord train station with patrols and operations of an additional control because we had noticed an increase in the number of offences and the feeling of insecurity among the residents," said the spokesman of the police zone Brussels North, Audrey Dereymaeker.
