The mayor of Verviers Muriel Targnion has been excluded from the PS, at the end of a saga policy which has shaken the City since a month now, as has been confirmed by the party in a press release. For the past month, the situation is very tense within the college verviétois. The president of the CPAS, Hasan Aydin, is in the line of sight of a majority of the elected PS and its partners, and the majority of MR and New Verviers.

The college had decided to remove him through a motion of no confidence an individual but this procedure had not been completed by reason of the guardianship of the socialist Union socialiste communale (USC) to Verviers as well as the Federation of verviers of the PS and the Boulevard of the Emperor. A motion of distrust collective had been filed on 7 July this year without the approval of the guardianship, the goal of the clan of the mayor, Muriel Targnion, composed of 7 of the 13 elected PS, being to build a new majority with the HRC and thus remove permanently Hasan Aydin.Updated Date: 30 July 2020, 08:35
