A massive operation of the federal police allowed Monday, shortly after midnight, free in the province of Limburg, a 13 year old child, kidnapped from his home on the night of 20 to 21 April and has been held hostage since. The prosecutor Guido Vermeiren declined to comment on the motivations of the kidnappers that would be a part of the world of drug trafficking.

The investigation, which has mobilised in the biggest secret, from 25 to 100 investigators, had been allowed to collect two "proof of life" of the child, which has led to the location of the place of sequestration. According to the prosecutor, the belgian investigators have benefited from the assistance of France, the netherlands and the United States, leading to the release of the young boy.
