This is twenty-five years that I have been working on the development of standards for islamic religious in Europe and I never cease to be surprised by the simplifications of a debate on the hijab (headscarf or the islamic veil) that ignores its theological meaning and its history.

This seems to be largely due to the fact that most of those who express themselves publicly about it have not knowledge enough rigorous of the current debate about the islamic standards.
