Appeals court to issue ruling on Trump’s travel ban

The federal appellate court deliberating whether to uphold or kill the restraining order against President Trump’s travel ban said Thursday it would issue its decision within hours.

Trump wants to temporarily ban refugees as well as immigrants from seven Muslim-majority nations — but a Seattle federal judge issued the order to stop it.

The Justice Department appealed, prompting the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco to hold a hearing on the case Tuesday.

If the court kills the order, the ban could be reimposed — though the timing remained in question.

If the court upholds the order, Trump has said he would take the case to the Supreme Court.
