The crossing gates on the Enchanted Railroad display at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle will come down for the final time Sunday, ending a run that began Jan. 13.

The annual display is the work of the LGB Model Railroad Club of Chicago and features trains wending their way along tracks that traverse winter, spring, summer and fall scenes that echo seasonal changes at the woody-plant museum at 4100 Route 53.

The arboretum staff works with the train experts to create scenes that include tiny landscaping crews, tree groves and re-creations of some of the things visitors can see when they step outside at the arboretum.

This is the 15th year for the show, which used to be held in December but was moved when the "Illumination" outdoor holiday light show became so popular. The exhibit traditionally attracts more than 15,000 people.

The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday before chugging out of town until next year.
