Homicide detectives are on scene near a home in Ajax after a man believed to be in his 30s was found dead early Saturday morning.

Durham police say they responded to a call at 109 Devineridge Ave. at around 2:46 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found a man with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead on scene by Durham paramedics.

The homicide unit has taken over the investigation.

Police say they don't believe the incident was random. They are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact investigators at 1-888-579-8520 ext. 2555.
