Police pick up suspended driver after tip: Hinckley Police Blotter

HINCKLEY --- Drunken driver, W. 130th Street: A resident met with police at Gale's Garden Center at 1:28 a.m. Jan. 26 to report that her ex-boyfriend was refusing to leave her house. She added that she thought the man, who had a suspended license, was going to take her car without her permission. Police later saw the man driving away from the house and arrested him for driving under suspension. Unauthorized use of a vehicle charges were also pending at the time of the report.

Reckless driving, W. 130th Street: Police pulled over a driver at 11:15 p.m. Feb. 2 when the officer witnessed him driving his Jeep left of center more than four times. The man smelled of alcohol, had glassy eyes and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, but later registered below the legal limit of blood-alcohol content on a breath test. The man was released without a citation.

Open container, Center Road: A driver was cited for having an open container of Twisted Tea inside the car following a stop for a traffic violation at 6:52 p.m. Jan. 26.
