The How:

High pressure will settle into Northeast Ohio Friday morning, and will stick around through the weekend bringing sunny skies and unseasonably warm temperatures, as average highs for this time of year are only 38 degrees.

Temperatures continue to warm: Northeast Ohio weekend weather forecast Feb. 17-19

High pressure causes sinking motion in the atmosphere, which dries the air out significantly, also making it very stable. Since rain and snow showers need instability and moisture to form, this is why chances are so low.

Southerly winds are also helping temperatures warm above average too. Ohio is so flat, anytime winds are from the south this drags in warm air from the Gulf of Mexico.
