Monday forecast for Austin: National Weather Service forecasters are expecting sunny skies in Austin on Monday along with temperatures in the upper 80s.
According to the weather service, the daytime high at Camp Mabry will reach around 87 degrees this afternoon, then gradually increase over the next few days as cloud cover rolls into the region.
“It will be a warming trend through Thursday,” said meteorologist Constantine Pashos.
Pashos said warm winds blowing into the area from the south and west will push highs to around 89 degrees on Tuesday and into the 90s on Wednesday and Thursday.
A cold front will break the warming trend on Friday and bring a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms.
Forecasters are calling for a 30 percent chance of rain on Friday, then sunny skies over the weekend with highs in the upper 70s.
