“Now is the time for our great elected Republicans in the House to vote for Kevin,” wrote the former president on his Truth social network, a rare public support from him. Despite a – very thin – Republican majority, Kevin McCarthy failed on Tuesday to be elected “speaker”, twenty elected Trumpists opposing his candidacy, deemed too centrist. The House is due to resume voting Wednesday at midday.
