Investigators assume that a 24-year-old railway worker is responsible for the collision of two trains in Bavaria. Two people died in the accident.

Aichach: Arrest warrant issued to the driving service

After frontal collision of two trains in Swabian Aichach with two dead, driving service director responsible for route was temporarily arrested. Against man re is urgent suspicion of negligent killing, police headquarters of Swabia Nord in Augsburg. Thus, accident from Monday is probably due to human error of 24-year-old.

A technical defect could be excluded after initial investigations. However, it is not yet possible to say what driving service provider has actually done wrong. "It's still far too early for that," said a police spokesman.

The Public Prosecutor's Office in Augsburg is currently investigating wher an arrest warrant is being requested against driving service. The responsible head of Public Prosecutor's Office refore came to scene of accident to make a personal impression.

The regional train, who was driving from Augsburg to Ingolstadt, was driven Aichach frontal on locomotive of a standing freight train on Monday evening (21.20 a.m.) a few hundred metres before station. The 37-year-old locomotive driver and a 73-year-old passenger were killed. Fourteen people were also seriously injured.
