The Berlin police arrested six men. The main suspect could have planned a knife attack on participants and spectators of the half-marathon.

The Berlin police detained six men and possibly thwarted an attack during half marathon in capital city. In case of joint searches of state protection and Berlin General Prosecutor's office in city area, six people were arrested and police shared it with Twitter.

The world had previously reported that special forces had arrested four men, among m a prime suspect. He should have planned to kill spectators and participants of sporting event with knives. The suspect belongs to private environment of terrorist anis Amri, who perpetrated attack on Berlin Christmas market at end of 2016 and killed twelve people.

Before half-marathon, Berlin police, according to ir own information, provided evidence of a possibly planned violent crime during event. There have been indications that six detainees aged 18 to 21 could have been "involved in preparation of a crime in connection with this event," police announced. On this basis, searches and six arrests took place. Furr information is currently not possible due to ongoing investigations.

According to Tagesspiegel, main suspect had been observed for two weeks. He was known to authorities from investigation of Amri attack. Lastly, re was apparently a reference given by a foreign secret service, according to which man planned an attack on half-marathon.

The man, with a knife attack, wanted to avenge death of his familiar Amri, wrote paper and refers to information from security circles. Amri had been shot on run in Italy. In home of a presumed accomplice of overwhelmed chief suspect, dogs trained on explosives had hit basement, reported world-wide. She quoted a police officer saying, "We're still going to evaluate. But that was probably scarce. "

After fatal incident in Münster, Berlin's interior Senator Andreas Hostage (SPD) announced on Saturday that police would check already "extremely high security precautions" for Half marathon on Sunday. She wanted to work with 630 officials to secure track. In half marathon, about 36,000 sportsmen and sportswomen took part on Sunday morning according to organizers.
