Camila Cabello is hoping to make music with Ed Sheeran.
In her first solo magazine cover for Seventeen, Cabello revealed that she’s dreaming of a collab with the British singer-songwriter.
“He’s incredible at putting love, emotion, and feeling into words,” the former Fifth Harmony member told the magazine. “I would love to see him go into a room and watch how he makes his magic. He always talks about how he loves making songs from the heart, and that’s something that I’ve pushed myself to do in my songwriting process, too.”
Sheeran has written a number of songs for the British-Irish boy band One Direction. Some of these tracks are “Little Things,” “Over Again,” “18” and “Moments.” The 25-year-old fire-haired artist has also lent his songwriting abilities to lots of his friends in the rap scene including Wretch 32, Devlin, Lupe Fiasco, and Hoodie Allen. The “Thinking Out Loud” crooner also co-wrote the hit duet “Everything Has Changed” with his close friend Taylor Swift, who happens to be pals with Cabello.
“Taylor is always the person that I go to for boy advice,” Cabello revealed to Seventeen. “The reason we became friends was purely because we think the same way about a lot of things: We’re both really sensitive and emotional when it comes to love. We love love, and we love writing songs about love.”
Cabello has yet to officially release her first solo album since her departure from Fifth Harmony in December. But just a month after her exit from the pop group, her solo single, titled “Love Incredible,” leaked online.
The pop/R&B track features Norwegian DJ and producer Cashmere Cat, so it’s unclear whether the song will be included on Cabello’s debut solo album or be featured on Cashmere Cat’s upcoming album, “Wild Love.”
Cabello confirmed to Seventeen that she’s currently writing new music for her solo album. When asked what fans can expect from her new sound now that she’s officially a solo artist, the 19-year-old songstress said: “Fifth Harmony wasn’t the maximum expression of me individually. My fans are really going to know me from the music I’m writing. My goal is to be brave and open up my soul.”
