Discrimination: Freedom of religion must apply to all

Every headscarf-carrying woman experiences daily attacks. If a Kippaträger the same, the whole country cries. That is inconsistent.

Discrimination: Freedom of religion must apply to all

People with Tippa are attacked in Germany. That is awful, and it is important to condemn that. Finally, country has a special historical responsibility. But what many forget: People are attacked every day because of ir supposed differentness or ir religion, without anyone even looking up.

It is not a question of calculating or comparing. I also do not want to say that we Muslims are worse off. Every headscarf-carrying woman experiences Pöbeleien and attacks as part of her everyday life: still warm coffee, which is poured on white sneaker on purpose, subsequent swear words, stupid sayings, shoves, looks, job and apartment cancellations We got used to it. This is part of our lives in Germany, and we do not want to stage ourselves as victims, after all, re are also Muslim racists.

But I am disturbed by thousandth discussion about wher we are Muslims in this country and wher headscarf cannot be forbidd somehow. If not for teachers, n at least for pupils. Yes, you should be able to wear tipper. However, it is not possible to discuss a ban on headscarf in parallel to this demand for weeks without creating impression of hypocrisy. This inconsistency is not worthy of a constitutional state. Headscarf, Tippa, cross, turban: a ban would have to affect everyone.

I also do not think it is good for young children to be forced into headscarf. But this marginal phenomenon, to which re are not even numbers, should lead to sexualisation of children? In times of women's despising casting shows, Sexualisierender fashion, gender-specific toys and a in part sexist popular culture, no one talks about proven impact on children's rooms, and no one calls for a ban on this Mass phenomena. Instead, we are abandoning minorities that have already been discriminated against.

If we get upset about anti-Semitic agitation, n please also ask about antimuslim and sexist. Then we are credible. Only n will we have a chance to fight root of that thought that causes people to cynical behavior. With fairness and justice for all, we are doing more than unilateral bans that limit minorities.

The lesson we draw from Holocaust cannot be that "never again" refers only to a certain group of people. It must be: Never again do we want to isolate people who are different from us or have a different religion than we do.
