Intersexuality: Finally allowed to say: I am

A third gender in the birth register has nothing to do with an ideological gender debate. It finally creates more justice and respect for intersexuals.

Intersexuality: Finally allowed to say: I am

Oh, je, is now launching a bitter, ideologically guided gender debate? Do we all have to think about how male, female or divers we really are?

The Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe today decided that a third gender may be registered in register of Births: Soon, people will no longer have to be divided into female and male – but may also be inter or divers. But with this judgement, Court does not prescribe a politically correct language to avoid gender stereotypes.

It also does not order that all men's and women's toilets must now be converted into Unisextoiletten. And do not worry: men and women who like to live old role models do not need to equip mselves for next Shitstorm, which some like to instigate to any gender debate.

Only one X chromosome

The verdict simply creates more justice for interpersonal people who have not officially existed yet. About 100,000 people in Germany are not biologically assigned to any gender. About 60 different forms of intersexuality exist. Some of se people feel masculine, some female, ors neir one nor or. They live in between.

Some transsexuals, i.e. people who are biologically assigned to a gender, but do not feel that y do not want to commit mselves. The person who has now been sued by all authorities until Constitutional Court is not a woman or a man, according to a chromosome analysis – it has only one X chromosome. She had been registered as a female at birth and would like to have it changed in inter or divers. The legislator must find exact language regulation by end of 2018. In Oregon in USA, for example, you can simply select an x next to F (female) and M (male).

Finally a "positive identity"

Previously, registrars and even Federal Court had refused to introduce a third sex. The persons concerned could only have wrongly registered sex deleted. They were not allowed to officially say, "I am", but always: "I am not." For one's own self-image, this is fatal. People were denied ir identity – so it is imperative that this change. The court now finally admits a "positive identity" to m, as judgment says.

Already 2012, ethics had found in a survey that interpersonal people are particularly often discriminated against and attacked. Many were assigned a sex in baby by surgery and hormones – and y suffered a lifetime among m. Experts are now rejecting this, because people will later deliberately decide which gender is right for m. Neverless, such operations still exist.

Intersexuals are also very often confused with transsexuals and are accordingly incorrectly advised and treated. Intersexuality is also often taboo: gays and lesbians are now allowed to marry; Transsexuals are also much more present in public – just as transparent in Amazon series. However, intersexuals rarely occur.

Maybe a unisex toilet?

The entry of a third sex in birth register is only beginning of fact that Intersexuals can finally be mselves. But it's an important signal. Some companies may actually set up a unisex toilet because an employee dares to be an intersexually-oriented person. Colleagues may ask how person wants to be written in next mail. Dear, dear, or Liebex?

Yes, y are again gender issues and political correctness. But it is less about ideological determination, but about respect for or people. Wher you get LGBTIQ (Lesbian, gay, bi, trans, Inter, queer) in correct order over lips is not so important.
