Russian engineers should have tried to use computers in a nuclear center to generate units of the digital currency Bitcoin. You are now in danger of criminal proceedings.

Russia: Engineers arrested for bitcoin mining

Several engineers from an important Russian core research centre have been arrested for trying to generate Kryptowährung Bitcoin with ir computers. However, staff of Central Research Centre in city of Sarov had been stopped in time, said a spokeswoman for Research Institute of Interfax News agency. Their knowledge of criminal proceedings has been initiated against suspects. The number of employees is not yet known.

The internet currency Bitcoin is created by complex computational operations called mining. The more powerful computers are, faster virtual means of payment can be scratched.

The core Research Centre is working in particular on development of nuclear weapons and access is strictly limited. In year 2011 a super computer was installed re. According to Russian television, this was one of twelve most powerful computers in world.

The value of Bitcoin has decreased significantly in recent weeks. At end of 2017, it still reached a peak of around 16,000 euros – and attracted more and more new investors. Meanwhile, Bitcoin course is around 7,000 euros.
