The football club of Liverpool has condemned Saturday's "improper attitude" to thousands of fans who gathered yesterday to celebrate the title of champion of England and the Reds, in defiance of the rules of social distancing in effect.

"Several thousand people came to the Pier Head Friday, June 26, and some have chosen to ignore the advice of social distancing and of endangering public safety," wrote the football club in a joint press release with the city council and the local police.
