Strongly criticized for having organized a tennis tournament in which several players, including himself, have caught the Covid-19, Novak Djokovic has donated over 40,000 euros to a Serbian city which was severely hit by the pandemic, reported Wednesday that several media outlets.

The world number one, 33-year-old, has offered that money in Novi Pazar, located in the south-west of Serbia, to help it cope with an increasing number of cases of coronavirus, has reported on the sports channel SportKlub TV on its website. The city has declared a state of emergency at the end of June.
