Egan Bernal, winner of the Tour de France last year, has explained his future plans in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Stampa. The Colombian 23-year-old wants to win all the grand Tours in the years to come and so ensure his place in the history of cycling. This year, he aims for a second victory on the Tour. The next year, he hopes to take the start of the Giro for the first time, with the aim of winning immediately. In the following years, he also hopes to win the Vuelta.

Bernal would join the selective club of the seven champions, who have recorded three Grand Tours to their list of achievements. This is Eddy Merckx, Jacques Anquetil, Felice Gimondi, Bernard Hinault, Alberto Contador, Vincenzo Nibali and Chris Froome.
