because of the crisis linked to the sars coronavirus, the mercato summer will be different this year in Belgium as divided into two periods. The first will take place from 7 July to 31 August. The dates of the second period are not yet known. The decision was taken by the supreme Council of the Union belge de football (URBSFA) and published Thursday in the official bodies of the federation.

The Union of european football associations (UEFA) had already announced that the mercato summery had been moved from 31 August to 5 October in order to allow the clubs who finished their championships this summer, take the time to strengthen for the season 2020-2021.
