Bulls' Butler remains sidelined with bruised heel

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Chicago Bulls All-Star swingman Jimmy Butler will not play Monday night against the Sacramento Kings because of a bruised right heel.

It is second straight game he has missed because of the injury and is considered questionable for Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors.

"He's doing a little bit better," Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg said before the game. "But still, it'd be hard for Jimmy to go out and play a full game the way he's feeling. So the big thing obviously for Jimmy is to get treatments over the next couple days and hopefully continue to make improvements. Then we'll make the determination on Wednesday."

Butler, who initially injured the heel during Wednesday night's win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, said Sunday that the pain was a "six or seven" in his heel. He rested the heel in a big bucket of ice in front of his locker before Monday's game.

"Even though it's the right foot it still hurts," Butler said after Monday's shootaround. "So you still gotta be able to go about all the basketball movements on defense and on offense, so like I said we'll see right before the game.''

The Bulls are also without big man Cristiano Felicio for the next week because of a right lower leg strain. The Bulls are in the middle of a six game road trip that ends on Sunday afternoon against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
