Liberty's Duggan, Emmaus' Landis earn spots on Big 33 roster

Liberty's Jaohne Duggan and Emmaus' Carson Landis have secured two of the coveted spots to represent Pennsylvania in the annual Big 33 Classic, as the roster was announced Friday night.

Duggan, a defensive end headed for Rutgers, and Landis, a kicker/punter bound for Penn State, were the lone District 11 selections.

The game against Maryland is currently scheduled for Memorial Day -- Monday, May 29th at Hersheypark Stadium -- though the date and venue could change, according to PennLive.

While the Big 33 Foundation shut down in January, the Pennsylvania State Football Coaches Association (PSFCA) assumed control of the game that will be played for the 60th time in 2017.

In his senior year with the Hurricanes, the 6-foot-2, 270-pound Duggan recorded 76 tackles, 20 for loss, and 14 sacks while earning all-state honors for the second year in a row

Landis also garnered an all-state nod for his senior year with the Green Hornets after kicking a school-record nine field goals (9 for 12, including four from 41-48 yards) with a long of 48. He converted 51 of 56 PATs and kicked 37 touchbacks while averaging 35 yards per punt.

Last year, Parkland's Devante Cross and Noel Brouse and Bethlehem Catholic's Joe Jay Smith Jr. helped Pennsylvania win 26-14.

At least one Big 33 alum has played in every Super Bowl.
