Will Kevin Love injury change Cavaliers’ trade deadline plans?

Kevin Love underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and will be out an estimated six weeks, the Cavaliers announced Tuesday.

The news comes nine days before the Feb. 23 NBA trade deadline. The Cavaliers previously rejected overtures from the Knicks to trade Love for Carmelo Anthony.

It’s the latest injury to strike the Cavaliers (37-16) as they try to hang onto their perch atop the Eastern Conference — they’re three games ahead of the second-place Celtics in the loss column — and brace for a potential NBA Finals re-rematch with the loaded Warriors.

LeBron James was already frustrated with the lack of depth on the roster, even prior to Love’s breakdown. The Cavaliers previously traded for Kyle Korver to help fill the void left by J.R. Smith, expected to be out until mid-March due to a fractured thumb.

Love also must be replaced on the East’s roster for the All-Star Game, and Anthony is a contender for that spot.
