A 4K broadcast at 60 fps to make the mouth water of the many fans of the franchise. And what can be said is that Guerrilla Games has managed to impress many players around the world, whether they are familiar with Horizon games or not. Impressions, novelties, narration, we have summarized for you the State of Play of Horizon Forbidden West, a second opus that seems to be looming at the height of its predecessor. < / p> < h3> Horizon Forbidden West it's about who, what and where ? < / h3> < p > For the less familiar players of the Horizon universe, it is necessary to recall some central elements of its history. The game takes place more than a millennium AD. Since the old world was destroyed by a catastrophe on a planetary scale, Humanity survives in it united in different primitive societies, but no longer occupies the highest place in the food chain. Indeed, this post-apocalyptic world is also populated by machines, from the smallest to the most gigantic, which pose a constant danger to its inhabitants. It follows the adventures of Aloy, a fearless adventurer who knows how to perfectly handle bows, spears, grappling hooks and many others. < / p> < p > In Horizon Forbidden West, Aloy will visit the Forbidden West, which is the western part of the North American continent. A place of innumerable dangers where she will have to survive in order to save what is left of Humanity from an unknown scourge: The Red Blight. From what we saw, players will be able to walk the ruins of San Francisco and the Golden Gate but not only, according to Ben McCaw, the game's narrative director. Aloy will have to fight his way through a lush jungle populated by machines but also tribes of hostile raiders. < / p > < h3 > A visual slap < / h3 > < p > What immediately caught the eye during the presentation of Horizon Forbidden West was its graphics. The universe of the second installment of the series is striking in realism, with lush tropical vegetation, varied environments, impressive light management but also precise animations, adding a lot of dynamism to the fights presented. Little icing on the cake, the scenery seems partially destructible which adds an extra touch of immersion during the various fights. But we must not forget the second player of this presentation, the Playstation 5, which seems to live up to its promises, delivering high-flying performance in 4K 60 fps.
New gameplay
To overcome the obstacles that await it, Aloy has been offered some new tools that we could see in action : the Focus Scanner , allowing to visualize the different climbing points of the environment, the Shieldwing , a kind of hang glider offering the possibility to slow down falls, the Pullcaster , a grappling hook allowing to accelerate vertical movements and get out of dangerous situations, but also a diving mask and different weapons making possible many combos. All these elements allow to vary the styles of gameplay and to emphasize the importance of the decisions of the player.
