Cops: DUI driver fleeing state had crack, 75 phony credit cards

A driver on Interstate 78 in South Whitehall Township might have made it into West Virginia with various drugs and 75 phony credit cards if he didn't commit several traffic violations, state police said.

Kerron Daniel Phillip, 24, of Brooklyn, NY on Thursday was arraigned before District Judge Michael Pochron on more than 20 charges, including drug possession and possession of a counterfeit device. In lieu of $40,000, Phillip was taken to Lehigh County jail. Court records indicate he posted bail on Sunday.

Pennsylvania State Police in Fogelsville on Nov. 6 stopped Phillip along I-78 east at mile-marker 54.9. Officers had probable cause to search the vehicle and seized 15 grams of marijuana and 18 grams of crack cocaine, as well as the 75 counterfeit credit cards, a credit card reader, writer and computer, police said.

Investigators determined Phillip was using the reader and writer to transfer account information onto the fake credit cards, according to police.

Phillip also was found to be driving under the influence of crack cocaine.
