SAN ANTONIO — Traffic on Bitters Road on the North Side was disrupted Wednesday after two water mains broke and flooded nearby streets in the area of Silverhorn Golf Club.

The main broke around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Bitters Road and Partridge Trail and a San Antonio Water System spokesperson said the break had been isolated by 5 p.m.

Two separate water mains ruptured after two different contracting companies hit them while installing fiber cables in the area, according to SAWS spokesperson Anne Hayden.

One main is located on Partridge Trail and another is located at the intersection of Bitters Road and Partridge Trail.

Traffic is backed up in the area, and Hayden said crews will be working in the area to repair the breaks this evening.

Some homes in the area may be without water while crews repair the lines, and other homes may experience low water service, according to Hayden.

Traffic appears to be affected in both directions.
