SAN ANTONIO — Reports of a tornado touching down in the Alamo Heights area have been circling Monday morning after strong winds made their way through San Antonio overnight, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologist Yvette Benavides says the NWS has received reports that a possible tornado touched down in different parts of San Antonio, damaging more than 150 homes.
San Antonio Fire Department public information officer Joe Arrington told San Antonio station KABB-TV that only minor injuries have been reported so far.

At least 30 homes were damaged, some destroyed, in the Glen and Camelot subdivisions, according to Monica Ramos, Bexar County spokeswoman.
No major injuries had been reported.
Ramos said that, as of about 3:30 a.m., there were two nursing homes in the area working off auxiliary power.
"Emergency response in these areas is being coordinated by Bexar County Office of Emergency Management," she said. "There are currently five local fire departments assisting."
TORNADO DAMAGE IN ALAMO HEIGHTS: Heavy storms pounded San Antonio overnight Sunday, Feb. 19 into Monday, Feb. 20, leading to record rainfall and tornadic activity.
She added that CPS Energy is working on the downed power lines and that Bexar County Public Works crews were removing downed tree limbs to allow emergency vehicles to enter the area.
"We’re coordinating with local agencies to provide assistance to affected residents in the area starting at daylight," Ramos said. The San Antonio area is also experiencing hundreds of outages as a result of the storms that came through Sunday night and Monday morning.
According to the CPS outage tracker, there are at least 764 outages affecting nearly 23,000 customers as of 6:51 a.m. Monday. The map shows outages mainly in the Alamo Heights and Stone Oak areas.
