[updated march 30, 2020 at 15h20] After the report the official of the olympic Games on Tuesday, march 24, because of the pandemic of the sars coronavirus by the IOC, the president of the organising committee of japan Yoshiro Mori unveiled Monday, march 30, at a press conference, "surprise", the new dates for the sports event of a planet. These last resemble significantly to the dates of 2020 because instead of arguing from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Olympics will take place from 23 July to 8 August 2021 . The organizers had expressed their willingness to organise the Games by the summer of 2021 at the latest, despite some of the rumors of the organization in the spring. The Paralympics will take place by addition of 24 August to 5 September.

If the deferral of the olympic Games is simply historical, athletes already qualified will not, of course, need to pay a new year of qualification as the said Thomas Bach, IOC President, in a press release : "It goes without saying that the athletes who are qualified for the Tokyo 2020 remain qualified. This follows from the fact that these Games, by agreement with Japan, are the Games of the Xxxii Olympiad."

OJ 2020 : the dates to remember

These summer olympic Games will begin, therefore, by the opening ceremony on Friday 23 July 2021 and will end on Sunday 8 August with the closing ceremony. The organising committee for the Tokyo 2020 had clarified last year that "matches of the preliminary rounds of the football competition and softball should be competing from the July 22, 2020, while the preliminary events of rowing and archery would be held on the same day of the opening ceremony, on July 24. The new program has not yet been revealed, it should there be some adjustments.

The disciplines in the program

Six new disciplines have their input to the program on the occasion of the olympics to Tokyo. This is the karate, surfing, rock climbing, skateboard and baseball-softball. A total of 33 sports will be represented in these olympic summer Games. Here is the list of disciplines identified by the organizers :
