The leaders of CDU and CSU want to discuss in CDU party headquarters how dispute in Bundestag group can be terminated. In addition to Merkel and Seehofer, general secretaries as well as deputy party leaders and leaders of Bundestag group also participate in this. The meeting, announced for 5pm, had been delayed because CSU leadership circle had been advising for longer than foreseen.

CSU chief and federal Interior minister Horst Seehofer entered Konrad Adenauer House at 17.40 a.m. "I hope it's still bright when I come back," he told waiting journalists. Before crisis summit, Horst Seehofer showed himself combative. "I'm not being dismissed by a chancellor who is only chancellor because of me," said Seehofer of Süddeutsche Zeitung. He is in a situation that is unimaginable to him: "The person I have helped to get into saddle throws me out." According to report, he alluded to much better electoral results of CSU compared to CDU.

The German chancellor and Seehofer had come toger surprisingly in afternoon for a conversation in a small circle. Both met with Bundestag president Wolfgang Schäuble in his office in Reichstag building. This may have been a possible solution to dispute.

Seehofer had offered on Sunday resignation of his offices as federal interior Minister and CSU party chief, whom he wants to complete in next three days – if no joint solution is found with CDU in asylum dispute. The Minister of Interior wants to reject asylum seekers at border if y are already registered in anor EU country. Chancellor Merkel wants a European solution.

SPD chief and Group chairman Andrea Nahles does not want to deal with "master Plan Migration" of Seehofer. This is reported by news agency AFP, citing group circles. "We are not dealing with master plan," she said. The SPD orient to agreements in coalition agreement, said Nahles on Monday before members of her party in Berlin. The future of plan is uncertain anyway.

At crisis meeting, each party will be represented by eight members each. The CDU by:

  • The party chairman and Chancellor Angela Merkel
  • The head of CDU/CSU Bundestag group Volker Kauder
  • General Secretary Annegret Kramp-Cart Builder
  • As well as five deputy party chairman Ursula von Leyen, Thomas Strobl, Armin Flapt, Julia Klöckner and Volker Bouffier

  • The head of CSU country group in Bundestag Alexander Dobrindt
  • General Secretary Markus Blume
  • Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder

  • The Minister of State for digitisation Doroe Baer
  • And former Bavarian prime Minister Edmund Stoiber
