Iran agreement: Tehran threatens uranium enrichment in d en next weeks

Iran has reacted with incomprehension to termination of nuclear agreement by United States. Iranian President Hassan Ruhani called DieEntscheidung of US president Donald Trump a "historical experience" for his country. The US would never have fulfilled its obligations, says Ruhani ImStaatsfernsehen. He Ruhani announced at same time, however, that Iran would also abide by a nuclear agreement to which United States did not belong.

"Instead of an agreement with six states, we now have one with five," Ruhani said. "We don't let Trump win this psychological war." Now Iranian diplomats would discuss procedure with or five negotiating partners, president said.  Ruhani, however, also threatened that Iran "in next few weeks" could enrich uranium in larger quantities than before.  He instructed Iranian Atomic Energy Agency to take necessary measures to resume "unlimited industrial enrichment" if necessary, said Ruhani on Tuesday evening on state television. But we will wait a few weeks to implement this decision.

France, Germany and Great Britain regretted decision of United States, from Abkommenauszusteigen. In a joint declaration by three European States, it was said: "Toger we stress that we are committed to agreement." They recalled that, according to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran continues to comply with conditions contained in agreement. "The world has become more secure," she said.

React with a sense of proportion

The US called on three governments not to take any measures that "hinder" implementation of Agreement by or parties. Berlin, Paris and London appealed to Iran to respond "with a sense of proportion" to Washington decision and to continue to abide by obligations under Agreement. "In return, Iran should continue to receive sanction relief that it is given as long as it complies with provisions of Agreement". The Iranian nuclear programme must be "forever peaceful and civil."

At same time, three governments made it clear that re were or challenges that need to be addressed: a "long-term framework" should be developed for period following phasing-out of 2025 nuclear programme. Questions about Iranian missile programme and "destabilising regional activities" of Tehran, in particular in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, would also have to be answered. Discussions should be held on this.

For European Union, EU's external representative, Federica Mogherini, shared expectation that remaining states would hold agreement despite US withdrawal. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also calls on all or signatory states to abide by agreements.

Russia in contact with EU

From Russia it was said that y wanted to obtain agreement. The Russian leadership is in contact with EU and Iran, news agency RIA cites Russian ambassador to EU.

Trump, on or hand, received support from Saudi Arabia. The announced re-establishment of sanctions against Iran is also correct, reports state broadcaster Al-Arabija. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) are also in favour of USA's Iran policy. Israel's head of government, Benjamin Netanyahu, also praised decision as "courageous and correct." "If nuclear agreement with Iran had remained same as before, it would have enabled Iran to enriched enough uranium within a few years to produce a whole arsenal of nuclear bombs," said Netanyahu on Tuesday.

"Moreover, agreement has already made billions of dollars to Iran, and with this money it finances its war machine throughout Middle East," Netanyahu said. He called on world community to also get out of nuclear agreement, impose new sanctions on Iran and "Stop Iranian aggression in our region, especially in Syria".
