10,000 Palestinians have come to the weekly protest in the Gaza Strip. Hundreds tried to storm the border fence and reach Israeli territory.

In case of renewed protests in Gaza at border with Israel, three Palestinian demonstrators have been killed. More than 150 people were injured by gunshots, a spokesman for Ministry of Health in Gaza shared.

In total, according to Israeli army, about 10,000 Palestinians came to protest. Thus, hundreds tried to overcome border fence in north of Gaza Strip and to reach Israeli territory. Numerous protesters threw stones and burned tires.

Israeli soldiers fired with sharp ammunition and tear gas on demonstrators. The military had warned before that anyone who approached border fence risked his life.

Since 30 March, thousands have been protesting in Gaza Strip every Friday, with 45 people killed so far. More than 5,500 were violated according to Palestinian claims, including according to UN 1,739 by Israeli security forces. The radical Islamic Hamas, which dominates Gaza Strip, organizes rallies. It demands that displaced persons and ir descendants be allowed to return to Israel and blockade of Gaza Strip is terminated.

The UN human rights office accuses Israel of excessive violence in dealing with demonstrations. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said Raad al-Hussein, warned government re that action could be a violation of international humanitarian law. Emergency forces are likely to use lethal force only in most extreme cases – for example, if y are in danger of life or risk of serious injuries is high.

The protests in Gaza Strip are expected to last until 15 May. On 14 May 1948 State of Israel was founded. The Palestinians commit 15th of May as Nakba Day ("Day of Disaster") because in first middle-East war 1948 about 700,000 Palestinians fled or were expelled. On 14 May, United States also wants to open its embassy in Jerusalem.
