The Turkish soldiers in northern Syria are an aggression, according to the Syrian government. Turkey wants to set up a deescalation zone with moderate rebels.

The Syrian government has called on Turkey to withdraw its troops from northwest of country without delay. A representative of Syrian Foreign ministry told official news agency SANA that government sees presence of Turkish troops as "aggression". Turkey had deployed troops to Idlib region on Thursday, which was controlled to a large part by jihadist groups.

Turkey wants to set up a so-called deescalation zone to enforce a ceasefire between government forces and ir opponents. The Turkish government had agreed with Russia and Iran on this. According to Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, aim is also to prevent mass immigration to Turkey. The opposition-Free Syrian Army (FSA) supports Turkish army.

"The Turkish aggression has absolutely nothing to do with agreements of Astana," SANA quoted Syrian ministry representative. "It even means a breach of agreements." Turkey supports Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in conflict with rebels, Russia and Iran. Although Turkish government rejects Syrian ruler, it is no longer pursuing its downfall. The country wants to prevent Kurdish rebels from becoming stronger in north of Syria.

The so-called deescalation Zone extends over Idlib as well as parts of neighboring provinces of Hama, Aleppo and Lattakia. On Saturday, according to Syrian Human Rights Observatory, a furr Turkish convoy was Idlib. The information provided by Human Rights Observatory cannot be verified independently.

According to a report by Mirror, Turkey is in process of consolidating its influence in Syria. In border town of Dscharabulus in Aleppo region, re is already a branch of Turkish Post office and an ATM where Turkish currency lira can be withdrawn. In Al-Bab, which is about 80 km away, school children learn Turkish as ir first foreign language, writes mirror. In addition, school diplomas from region in Turkey would be recognised. "We do not have desire to occupy this country, but we want its rightful owners to return re," mirror quotes Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Idlib is last region of Syria, which is almost completely dominated by whole of area. Lastly, an offshoot of radical Islamic Nusra front, Dschihadistenbündnis Hajat Tahrir al-Shame, had significantly expanded its influence in region. The Nusra front was once again result of local offshoot of al-Qaeda.
