Havana, February 20, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Havana once again dresses up to host the XXIII Edition of the Habano Festival and thus become the world capital of this unique product. Between Monday, February 27 and Friday, March 3, aficionados, experts, and professionals will gather around what is considered the best cigar in the world and pay homage to three of the most prestigious brands of Habanos, S.A.: Montecristo, Bolívar, and Partagás, among others. .
For this week of celebration, an endless number of activities, workshops, talks and presentations have been prepared with the Habano as the central axis and with the aim of continuing to transmit and share knowledge of both its tradition and its entire value chain.
As in previous editions, attendees from more than 110 countries will learn first-hand about the news that Habanos, S.A. will present during the Festival.
We will experience the beginning of this XXIII Edition of the Habano Festival with the inauguration of the Trade Fair, the most important meeting point for professionals in the tobacco sector, manufacturers of Premium products and artisans, which this year brings together more than 260 exhibitors from 10 countries. That same night, Club Habana will host the first of the special evenings with the Welcome Night that will revolve around Montecristo and its appreciated Open Line, in which its latest novelty will be presented.
The Intermediate Night will take place in the El Laguito Protocol Room and will be led by Bolívar and La Casa del Habano. In it, the 121 years of the brand and the worldwide importance of the international network of specialized franchises are celebrated with the presentation of a new vitola.
The final touch of this long-awaited Habano Festival will be the Gala Night to be held on Friday, March 3, at Pabexpo. This magical evening will be dedicated to Partagás. During this, one of the most important moments of the Festival will take place with the delivery of the Habanos Awards and the traditional Humidor Auction, whose proceeds will go, as every year, to Cuban Public Health.
A WEEK LOADED WITH ACTIVITIES
In parallel, the International Seminar will be held, which will begin with the Conference "The Partagás brand seen through Vitolfilia", given by Lic. Fernando González García, President of the Vitolfilia Association of Cuba, and Lic. Zoe Nocedo, member of the Association, in the Palace of Conventions of Havana. Throughout the week, this same venue will host different masterclasses on the processes of making Habanos, as well as tastings and pairings with various products.
Likewise, we will live a new edition of the Habanos World Challenge in which, in pairs, the participants must demonstrate their knowledge and mastery of the phases of making and enjoying the Habano. From a series of tests, which they will have to overcome, it will be determined who are the successors of Tarek Gamayel and Fadi Hammad, winners of the last edition held.
The program of activities of the XXIII Habanos Festival will be completed by a visit to plantations, which this year will take place in Pinar del Río*, in the Vuelta Abajo* region, as well as visits to the Partagás and La Corona factories, to learn about first-hand the entire process of making Habanos.
