One day down for THON 2017, one more to go.

Penn State's annual 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon is in full swing, on its way to a 4 p.m. conclusion Sunday.

More than 165,000 students are helping -- with more than 700 pledging to dance -- in the annual dance marathon, which has raised more than $136 million over 40 years to Four Diamonds at Penn State Children's Hospital, funding comprehensive care and critical research, according to pennlive.com.

The event is punctuated by presentations and performances, including a surprise show by Joe Jonas and his band DNCE on Friday.

Locally, there are smaller versions of the event. One at Notre Dame High School started at 5:30 p.m. Friday and concluded 24 hours later.
