NORTH HOLLYWOOD >> A bicyclist was killed after colliding with a car in North Hollywood, authorities said.

The crash took place at 12500 Strathern St., at the intersection with Whitsett Avenue, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

The rider died at the scene, she said. The person’s age and gender were not immediately available. The victim’s name was withheld, pending notification of kin.

There’s no word yet about what happened to the driver.
