CC.OO. calls off strikes in Amazon warehouses but maintains them in transportation centers

MADRID, 25 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

CC.OO. has called off the one-hour stoppages per shift that were planned in all Amazon storage centers in Spain for this Monday and Tuesday, although it has maintained them for the transport centers, thus coinciding with the 'Black Friday' and ' Cyber Monday'.

In this way, the union has made different decisions regarding its subsidiary Amazon Spain Fulfillment, dedicated to warehouses and in which strikes will no longer take place, and Amazon Road Transport Spain, focused more on transportation and in whose centers The strikes will continue.

The union has made this decision after a long negotiation with the company of almost 14 hours, in which it has achieved its commitment to adopt improvements in matters related to occupational health and payroll problems, as Europa Press has been informed by sources. unions.

Specifically, a new Work Accident Management procedure will be launched, which will be negotiated in the Health and Safety committees of the different work centers, and the necessary means and resources will be provided to improve the support and response of the payroll management service.

Likewise, an extraordinary process will be adopted to be able to solve serious cases of payroll incidents with prompt payment within 5 business days and a series of measures will be implemented with the aim of reducing payroll incidents, also through monthly meetings with the union sections of CC.OO.

However, regarding salaries, the union has chosen to take this issue out of this negotiation, ensuring that the company "does not agree in any way to negotiate it with the union representation."

Despite this cancellation, the agreement in Amazon Road Transport Spain has not been possible, since, due to its characteristics and circumstances, the union considers that the business proposal "does not cover the minimum needs of the staff", describing it as "insufficient" .

Therefore, the partial strikes called in all these work centers will continue in the last working hour of each shift, between 00:01 a.m. on November 27, 2023 and 02:00 a.m. on November 28, 2023.
