CNT sees it as "nonsense" that it is allowed to apply an ERTE to Tubos Reunidos while it achieves "million-dollar profits"

BILBAO, 16 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The CNT union has described as "nonsense" that Tubos Reunidos is allowed to apply an ERTE to its workforce from September while it obtains "million-dollar profits".

In a note, the union central recalled that the company closed 2022 with earnings of 43.5 million and a net profit of 54.5 million in the first half of 2023.

In his opinion, it is "obvious that Tubos Reunidos practices economic engineering aimed at taking advantage of public money", they have remarked from the union section.

After recalling that the ERTE that will be applied will last from September to February 2024, for CNT, "the company is maintaining a very aggressive roadmap with the workforce."

"The company tries to impose changes to calendars without following the procedures and applying ERTEs without informing union sections or the workforce within the legal deadlines," they have denounced.

From the perspective of the CNT, this situation "deserves a union response that confronts the excesses of the company because it is its workers who produce wealth."

In this sense, the union has stressed that Tubos Reunidos has just renewed its agreement until 2027, expired since 2016, with which it has achieved "the social peace required for having received million-dollar public aid."

In the opinion of this union, the negotiation of the agreement "has not been demanding of the reality" that the company lives and considers, for its part, that "more weighty issues should have been claimed."

For the CNT, the UGT, LAB and CCOO unions have signed the agreement "after several referendums and not a little tension in their assemblies", therefore, as it has added, in Tubos Reunidos "they consciously silence the union approaches that differ from this trade unionism, which negotiates from conservative positions" when, in his opinion, union work must be "constant", in order to "maintain rights from a union task in the workplace".
