While Tuesday will be another pleasant day by late February standards, it'll be cooler than the past several days.

Temperatures will warm up considerably the rest of the week in New Jersey beginning Wednesday, according to AccuWeather.com.AccuWeather.com

Forecasters say highs will reach the upper 40s and low 50s under sunny skies on Tuesday.

That's still 5-10 degrees above normal for this time of year.

It's a cooler start to the day than the last several with temperatures mainly in the upper 20s and low 30s as of 7:30 a.m., according to the state climatologist's office.

The coldest spot in the state as of 7:30 a.m. in Walpack at 18 degrees. It's 41 in several spots: Seaside Heights, Sea Bright, Harvey Cedars and at the marina in Atlantic City.

Temperatures dip into the 30s Tuesday night before the big warmup gets going on Wednesday. New Jersey will have cloudy skies and temperatures climbing in the low 60s.

Then Thursday, highs reach the low-to-mid-70s under partly sunny skies. There's a slight chance of afternoon showers.

Newark's record high of 68 for Feb. 23 set in 1985 seems likely to fall. The highest temperatures recorded in Trenton and Atlantic City on that date are 72 in 1985 and 74 in 1874, respectively.

Then it's back to the 60s for Friday and Saturday before a return to seasonable temps in the 40s Sunday. Rain is possible Friday and likely on Saturday.

On Monday, highs climbed to 56 in Newark, 59 in Atlantic City and 57 in Trenton.
