Orlando police were searching Renaissance Charter School this morning after finding a man dead in a car parked outside.

The man appeared to have killed himself, Orlando police spokeswoman Wanda Miglio said. No other details about his death were released.

Officers responded to the school at 6004 Goldenrod Road just before 8 a.m. after getting a call about a suspicious incident.

Miglio said officers found the man in a vehicle and decided to search the school and surrounding areas as a precaution.

As of about 9:30 a.m., nothing had been found, she said.

The school is a tuition-free public charter in southeast Orlando, according to its website. It’s located off Goldenrod Road between Hoffner Avenue and Lee Vista Boulevard.
