Orange County deputies say an altercation between a woman’s ex-boyfriend and her new boyfriend ended this morning with one of the men shot.
Deputy Rose Silva said the shooting happened at the woman’s home in the Beacon Hill Apartments, off Dorscher Road near Balboa Drive in west Orange County. Numerous neighbors called 911 just after 8 a.m. reporting gunshots in the area, she said.
Deputies responded and found the woman and her ex-boyfriend at the scene. They then learned that her new boyfriend had already managed to get himself to a local hospital, where he was being treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Neither of the men have been identified. Silva said everyone involved was being interviewed.
Detectives remained at the scene for more than an hour this morning trying to sort out what happened. Silva said they initially received conflicting reports from witnesses, but it appeared the woman and her ex-boyfriend were at her apartment when her new boyfriend showed up.
Silva said there was an “exchange of words” between the men and then “something happened” and the new boyfriend ended up shot.
As of about 9:30 a.m., no one had been arrested.

On 01/31/2017, approximately 11:30 pm, Security cameras captured two unknown black male suspects commit an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven at 5300 Radabaugh Way. The two clerks were working inside with two customers shopping, when two males entered the business armed with handguns wearing masks. The suspects ordered the clerks to empty the registers. The suspects then fled on foot into the Northbridge Apartment complex. The suspects were between the ages of nineteen to twenty three. Please note that one of the suspects had bright red sneakers and a distinct wristband or watch on his left wrist.
