The 'Goya Project', a 194 megawatt (MW) wind portfolio in the autonomous community of Aragón, has been "successfully" refinanced by shareholders Engie, Forestalia, General Electric and Mirova, a subsidiary of Natixis dedicated to sustainable investments , as reported this Tuesday by all the companies involved in the operation.

The portfolio is made up of seven wind farms that use GE Vernova wind turbine technology, all of them operational for more than three years and located in Aguilón, Azuara, Herrera de los Navarros and Fuendetodos (province of Zaragoza).

On the operational side, GE Vernova is in charge of the operation and maintenance contract for the turbines, while Forestalia is in charge of managing the asset.

Natixis CIB has "fully" insured the refinancing and has closed an interest rate derivative, while the agent of the operation has been Bondholders. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

In addition, BNP Paribas has led and coordinated the financing of this operation in its role as exclusive financial advisor and bank of accounts, the companies have stated.

The 'Goya Project' is a "unique and emblematic" portfolio in the Spanish market for being the first renewable project in Spain that was built without subsidies and the first that signed a corporate PPA, which was agreed with Engie for a period of 13 years , the companies have highlighted in their statement.

They have also highlighted that it is part of the first assets that were awarded in the 2016 auction, the first after the renewable moratorium in Spain.
