Ferrovial has incorporated a stakeout robot into its works, an autonomous solution designed to make complex layouts on the ground through more precise topographic measurements in complex constructions.

With this, the company intends to optimize the layout time and the quality of the design, multiplying by ten its productivity in the works, as it has defended in a statement.

Specifically, this device is capable of marking thousands of coordinates per day, replicating the lines, marks and texts defined in a CAD file, additionally allowing design errors to be corrected in real time.

This avoids possible delays in the development of the works, reducing the layout time and the risks involved in measuring with traditional manual surveying methods in dangerous areas.

Most of the surveying robots are suitable for working on uneven terrain and are resistant when exposed to the elements, which allows their operation in severe climates without complications. For its operation, it is necessary to connect it to a total station or work directly with GPS technologies.

After this, a DXF or CAD file must be downloaded with a list of specific layers to be able to print on the floor through an online platform. Once configured, the robot begins to automatically trace the survey while the platform shows the progress of the stakeout process.

Some of these robots have already been tested in Ferrovial projects, such as the Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella, the Bensell Offices in Manoteras (Madrid), the Montepino Warehouse in Illescas, the Mahou Calderón residential building, in 148 homes in Badalona and at London Heathrow airport.
