MADISON -- A structure fire early Sunday evening has resulted in the closure of main roads downtown to traffic, police announced.

In a public notification issued at 5:22 p.m., Madison police said that Main Street and Waverly Place were being closed to traffic as a result of a "commercial fire."

Police didn't specify an exact address, but images posted on social media appear to show a three-story structure with smoke pouring from the top floor.

Information about the extent of the blaze and whether there were any injuries was not immediately available.
