Ericka Dunlap, who was crowned Miss America in 2004, will launch her campaign for City Council this evening, as Orlando’s 2017 elections continue to heat up early.
In a statement, Dunlap’s campaign said she will host a kick-off party at 401 W. Colonial Dr. at 6 p.m. as a ceremonial start to her campaign to represent District 5, which includes Parramore and other west Orlando neighborhoods.
Though voters won’t go to the polls until Nov. 7, incumbent Commissioner Regina Hill, who is seeking a second term, has already drawn four challengers, including Dunlap, Cynthia Harris, Jibreel Ali and the Rev. Stovelleo Stovall.
