Generali appoints Giulio Terzariol as CEO of its new Insurance division

Generali has announced that Giulio Terzariol will join the company as Chief Insurance Officer, a newly created position with responsibility for all insurance business units, effective January 2024.

Terzariol will report directly to the group's CEO, Philippe Donnet, and will join the Generali Group's management committee. He will be responsible for supervising the activities of the CEOs of the group's insurance business units: Italy, the 'Dach' region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), France and Global Commercial Activities (which includes Europ Assistance and Global Business Lines) and International (which includes other European countries in which it is present, the Mediterranean and Latin America, and Asia).

The objective of this new division is to "further" improve coordination, effectiveness and strategic alignment in all geographies, rationalizing and simplifying the group's organizational model and contributing to the achievement of the objectives of the strategic plan 'Lifetime Partner 24: Driving Growth', as the company explains in a statement.

Terzariol began his career in the insurance business at Generali Versicherung in Munich and Vienna, before joining Allianz SE in 1998. At the latter insurer he held the position of regional financial director for the group's businesses in Asia Pacific and South America. North, before being promoted to group planning director in Germany in 2016.

In 2018, Terzariol was appointed group chief financial officer and member of the board of directors of Allianz SE.
