Hooded man robs TD Bank branch in Hamilton with note, police say

HAMILTON -- A man wearing a hat and driving a red sport-utility vehicle robbed a TD Bank branch in Tuesday evening using a note, Hamilton police said.

The man walked into the bank in the 1100 block of Whitehorse-Hamilton Square Road at 5 p.m. and handed a note to a teller, announcing the robbery, police said.

The teller handed over cash and the man got into a red SUV with a gray bumper and drove away. Police did not say how much money was stolen, and witnesses were unsure of what direction the man drove.

Police described the man as being in his early 30s and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with white stripes. A photo from the bank's security system shows he also wore a knit winter hat with the sweatshirt hood on top of it.

Hamilton detectives and the local FBI office are investigating.

Anyone with information on the man's identity can call Hamilton Detective Leonard Gadsby at 609-581-4032, or the Hamilton police tipline at 609-581-4008.
