BRIDGETON -- A man that was involved in a fatal shooting outside a city bar in 2015 was sentenced Monday to five years in state prison, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.

Quamere Redding, 25, of Elmer Street, pleaded guilty to a certain person not to possess a weapon charge. He was originally charged with murder for the April 12, 2015, shooting death of 24-year-old Earikeem Lewis outside the Las Palmas Tequila Bar.

The shooting occurred in the early morning near the intersection of Washington and Cohansey streets in Bridgeton. The shooting started when the two got into a fight at the bar.

Lewis and Redding were both taken by private vehicles to Inspira Health Center in Bridgeton for gunshot wounds. Lewis died at the hospital and Redding was taken to Cooper University Medical Center in Camden.

Redding will spend five years in prison and will be ineligible for parole for those five years.
